Purpose of the Article
Alright, so I said that we will be talking about profile tips that sellers can apply to their Fiverr profiles to help them look more professional, attract more buyers, and ultimately, get more orders, resulting in more money. So, um, you know, if you’ve been around or poked around the Website, you’ll know that I already do Fiverr seller reviews on this Website. And basically, what that is is I have made my email available to people who watch this Website.
You can send me an email, and I’ll write an article where I pull up your Fiverr profile and I’ll go through it and just do an honest critique and review of the profile, providing tips to help you improve it. This article, I thought, would be really helpful to kind of be proactive around that whole concept of how to improve my Fiverr profile. So, um, in this article, I’m just going to talk about three really quick tips and things that you should consider when creating your first Fiverr profile that will put you, you know, leaps and bounds ahead of a lot of the Fiverr sellers on Fiverr because not a lot of people are doing this, and these are recurring topics that I seem to keep covering in a lot of my Fiverr seller profile reviews.
Tip 1: Use a Professional Headshot
The first—this is so easy, but you’ll be so surprised how few people do this—is to, when you create your profile, your profile picture, make it a headshot. People like doing business with humans. A lot of people have, you know, really spammy, scammy-looking profile pictures, uh, profile pictures that weren’t designed professionally or photos of like them in a group setting, totally unrelated from anything you’d want to see if you were about to do business with someone.
The easiest thing you can do that’ll instantly have a huge effect on how professional your profile comes off is to use a headshot. Doesn’t need to be taken by, you know, a Hollywood famous photographer. iPhone cameras are really good, and iPad cameras are really good. You know, if you must, and you have a really good webcam, use that. However you take it, just make the background nice and clean, you know, white or like a nice bookshelf or whatever, and just make sure you look presentable, you’re smiling, and you’re looking at the camera.
Uh, you’ll be so surprised how much that’ll do for you. And, and the reason is that you know if we think about how people do business in 2020 and how people are going to continue to do business, um, a big, uh, a platform that people turn to validate whether or not someone knows what they’re doing or has experience is LinkedIn.
And in LinkedIn, everyone has a headshot, you know, they’re usually, usually really crisp and clean. So, in the digital age where people are used to, you know, confirming past work experience of people that are working with on something like LinkedIn, if you’re a seller on Fiverr, you want to cater to that same comfort level that people have. So, on your Fiverr profile, when they fire it up, it should look like a professional profile, and having a professional headshot will help you come across as a professional.
Tip 2: Optimize Your Fiverr Profile Description
So, that’s number one: use a headshot for your Fiverr uh profile picture. The second Fiverr profile tip, and again, it’s something that’s not super hard to do, but not a lot of people do, is to use the description section of your Fiverr profile and fill it in. Maximize the use of that space. So, there are two key goals here with Fiverr profile descriptions.
The first is as a seller, you want to use that space to accurately describe yourself, your skills, and why buyers should care and why they should buy from you. That’s the prime piece of real estate on your profile that’ll allow you to do that.
The second thing and this is pretty important as well, the second thing I like to focus on for um, you know, Fiverr profile descriptions is um to structure it in such a way where you’re incorporating keywords or keyword phrases that you think are commonly searched for by buyers who are looking for sellers like yourself that offer the type of services that you offer yourself.
Now, SEO and keywords are a whole other discussion, but, if you’re not familiar with what SEO is, it stands for search engine optimization. And when you’re a seller on Fiverr and buyers are looking for services, they’re typing things into Fiverr search. What having keyword phrases and commonly searched keywords in your description does for you is it might increase the chances you have of popping up in a Fiverr search when someone is searching for those keywords. So, it’s something I weigh pretty heavily both in creating my Fiverr profile and Fiverr gigs, and you should do the same.
Tip 3: Add Skills and Educational Experience
The third beginner tip to help you create a Fiverr profile that’s going to stand out, look professional, and, you know, really work for you and help you get more orders is to add skills and past educational experience. Not a lot of people take enough time to do this, and you might think it’s not super important, but it is. You know, as a buyer, if you’re comparing two different sellers, you’re looking for any piece of information that you can use to determine who will be the better person to spend your money on.
So, if you went to university, high school, college, whatever, put that in the education section. If you have certain skills related to your Fiverr gigs or related to the services or, you know, ancillary services that you offer on Fiverr, list them. You can even, when you list skills in Fiverr, whether it be, you know, for me, copywriting, sales, marketing, if you do a Fiverr Learn or Fiverr skill assessment, it’ll highlight that skill in green to add further validity uh to your buyer that, hey, Fiverr is vouching for you, you’ve done this test, you have that skill.
It is so important. So, yeah, the third thing is to fill out skills, past work experience, and um, you know, past job history, even if you want, um, you know, certifications of what would relate or of anything that relates to the services you’re offering on Fiverr.
Why These Tips Matter
These three beginner tips are truly beginner tips, but the reason I’m preaching them is there are three very easy things to do if you spend 10, 15, or 20, you can spend an hour doing these things if you want to.
If you spend the time figuring out what you want to include in these three areas—your Fiverr profile picture, your Fiverr description, and your skills, the work or educational history section of your profile—you’re just going to have a much more complete-looking profile that buyers are going to feel more comfortable looking at and ultimately ordering from you.
